Information Technology

Information Technology encompasses the design, deployment, and management of computer systems, networks, and digital infrastructures. It includes areas such as system administration, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, and software engineering. IT professionals ensure reliability, scalability, and security across all digital operations.

Program Education Objective

  • To prepare student with a sound foundation in Mathematic, Scientific and Information Technology fundamentals and prepare for employment, higher studies and research.
  • To encourage the students to pursue higher studies in the field of specialization.
  • To inculcate leadership, team work, entrepreneurship, professional ethics, Indian values and holistic development among students.
  • To motivate student to the art of self-learning and solve complex real-life problems using modern scientific and IT tools.

Program Outcomes

  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental consideration.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  •   Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and lifelong learning in the broadest context of technological change.

  • To develop the knowledge of algorithms, data structures, cloud services, information          security, programming languages and data analytics as an IT professional.

Engineering education equips students with a strong foundation in mathematics, science, and core engineering principles, enabling them to analyze and solve complex problems. It emphasizes the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges through innovative design and the development of practical solutions that consider safety, cultural, and environmental aspects. Engineers are also trained to conduct research and investigations using scientific methods, experiments, and data analysis to derive valid and meaningful conclusions.

In today’s rapidly advancing technological world, engineers must effectively utilize modern tools, software, and IT resources for modeling, simulation, and problem-solving, while being aware of their limitations. They are expected to apply contextual reasoning to assess the societal, legal, and environmental implications of their work, ensuring sustainable and ethical practices. A deep understanding of sustainability, environmental responsibility, and professional ethics forms the cornerstone of responsible engineering, aligning technical excellence with social accountability.

Furthermore, engineers must develop strong interpersonal and managerial skills to function effectively both as individuals and as part of multidisciplinary teams. Clear communication, leadership, and teamwork are vital for success in collaborative projects. In addition, knowledge of project management and financial principles helps engineers take on leadership roles and manage real-world challenges efficiently. Above all, engineering is a lifelong learning journey—one that requires continuous adaptation, curiosity, and commitment to staying updated with technological and societal changes.
